1. Make one home for guest photos
Choose an album organiser before the wedding. In LazyAlbum, connect your Google Drive or Dropbox, name the album and share its link or QR code. Guests upload photos and videos in their browser without an app, account or storage-provider sign-in. Collection costs nothing and uses your connected storage.
- Use an account you're happy to keep the memories in.
- Check storage space, especially if guests will send videos.
- Ask a trusted helper to look after QR cards and reminders on the day.
- Test the complete path: scan, select a photo, upload, then find it in your folder.
2. Make the QR cards easy to notice
A few well-placed cards are more useful than a code hidden in one corner. Tell people exactly what to do: 'Share your photos with us. Scan, choose your favourites and upload.'
- Place a card on each reception table and near the guest book.
- Add the link to your wedding website or guest message.
- Keep the code dark on white, with clear space around it.
- Test the final printed size in similar lighting. Include the written link too.
- For an unplugged ceremony, keep cards and photo prompts for the reception.
3. Ask for one friendly announcement
Give your MC or DJ a short line to read when guests are settled: 'The couple would love to see the day through your eyes. There's a QR code on your table for adding photos and videos. Save the link and you can upload tomorrow too.' Ask guests to stay clear of the photographer and respect any moments you've chosen to keep phone-free.
4. Try a gentle photo challenge
A challenge is an invitation, not a competition. Leave our wedding card on the tables for guests who would enjoy finding a happy reunion, a lovely little detail or their whole table together. Nobody needs to finish every prompt, and guests should ask before photographing someone. It complements your professional photos rather than replacing them.
Customise your printable photo challenge ↗5. Follow up while the memories are fresh
Send one thank-you message the next day with a tappable album link. People may want to upload on home Wi-Fi, especially for videos. Ask for favourite originals rather than screenshots of group chats.
- Check uploads have arrived and leave enough storage for late contributions.
- Review the collection before sharing it with guests.
- Ask before posting someone else's photo publicly.
- By default, the files go to your storage for you to view. A shared guest gallery is an optional extra.
- Keep a second copy of the photos that matter most to you.
